CMS recently announced its largest-ever initiative geared to improve how primary care if delivered and payed for in America. Scheduled to launch January 2017, the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+) builds upon the Comprehensive Primary Care initiative slated to come to an end later this year. CPC+ provider participants will see changes to payment structure. In an effort to build up the financial incentive structure, CPC+ replaces shared savings used in CPC with a prepaid incentive that practices must repay if they fail to meet set performance goals.
