Our Technology

PMG uses the latest technology to protect client data and ensure optimal network continuity, availability and uptime.

Our Tier II data center is built around the ANSI/TIA-942 specifications. In addition, we subscribe to the N+1 active/passive redundancy methodology for power, cooling and network topology (according to definitions, standards and benchmarks of the Uptime Institute).

Based in Pawtucket, R.I. (contiguous to Providence and 50 miles south of Boston), PMG can leverage multiple vendors for our telecommunications needs due to the close proximity of our ISP vendor's central offices. As a result, we can offer a 20Mb/s fiber backbone with auto-redundant backup data lines as well as a fully maintained, natural gas-powered backup generator with automated power failover.

Security

When it comes to data center operations, security is always our primary focus. Our data center is locked down at all times, and we use the latest RFID technology to permit and restrict physical access. The facility is monitored via live video surveillance, and only authorized personnel are allowed entrance.

Our technical services team adheres to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), and our physical security policy complies with the PCI-DSS requirements outline. Using a best-of-breed software and hardware approach allows us to ensure data security and integrity. And by using only 256-bit encryption for all secure transactions, we go above and beyond current 128-bit SSL standards.

Finally, we utilize only best-in-class firewall and intrusion detection solutions from vendors such as Cisco, Dell, Microsoft and Citrix.

Continuity

Network continuity, availability and measured uptime have been paramount to PMG's technological success. To accomplish our 99% uptime objective, we have instituted a multi-layered approach that includes:

By investing in state-of-the-art storage, virtualization and data recovery technologies, we can minimize unnecessary downtime and ensure data availability at all times. Our offsite, on-demand, data storage and disaster recovery facility is a Fully Certified, Independently Audited SAS70 Type II Datacenter Provider.

Also, we have developed our own disaster recovery standards to comply with those set forth by DRA International (formerly known as Disaster Recovery Institute).

Infrastructure

PMG has a fully secure and HIPAA-compliant systems architecture with the latest technology to ensure peak performance. Using a high-speed fiber-based network backbone with built-in latency detection and proactive alerting, we can detect and prevent problems before they occur. Plus, our onsite data center has auto-failover backup power and is equipped with the latest in waterless fire-suppression technology to further promote rapid recovery should an outage or disaster occur.

To address routine and unavoidable issues, or to otherwise assist our customers with their technical support needs, helpdesk personnel are available weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET. For emergency services only, these personnel are also available weekdays from 6 p.m. to midnight ET, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

We offer all clients a formal service level agreement with a 15-minute response time for critical issues. Our technical services department is maintained and operated by Microsoft, A+ and Dell certified staff and management.
